Case type settings (statuses, flags, files, portal)
Configure the behaviour users see on cases.
Case type Settings control a lot of what users experience on a case.
Open case type settings
- Switch to the relevant team
- Open Team Settings
- Select a case type
- Open the Settings tab
Statuses
Statuses are used by the case status dropdown. Admins can:
- Add/edit/delete statuses
- Mark one status as initial and one as final
Flags
Flags are coloured labels that can be applied to cases to highlight important situations.
File types
File types are optional categories that users can apply when uploading files to a case.
Admins can add/edit/delete file types (label + colour). Users can then pick a file type during upload or when editing a file.
Portal access defaults
Portal settings control case portal invites:
- Default expiry (for example 7/30/90/180/365 days or no expiry)
- Whether users can override the expiry per invite
- Whether to send an email invite by default
- Whether users can override the email invite setting
