Update a case status

Change the case status, including closing and reopening.

You can update a case’s status from the case sidebar.

Update the status

  1. Open the case
  2. In the sidebar, open Case status
  3. Select the new status

About status choices

Status options are configured per case type and may be constrained by a workflow:

  • You’ll typically see the statuses you can transition to from the current status
  • Some statuses are marked as initial or final by admins
Closing and reopening

Setting a case to a “final” status closes the case. Moving it from a “final” status back to a non-final status reopens it.
